Chanted Concerts at Sainte-Chapelle

Hundreds of years ago, a building was constructed in Paris. It is called the Sainte-Chapelle and it’s known for its distinctive stained glass windows that seem to glow from within, capturing the colors of sunlight as it streams through. Sainte-Chapelle is a medieval church located on the Île de la Cité in Paris, France. It was commissioned by King Louis IX to serve as royal chapel and all of the stained glass windows are original. The most famous window depicts Jesus Christ with 12 apostles and it’s called “The Rose Window.”

The acoustic properties of Sainte-Chapelle have always been admired for their perfection so now you can enjoy them from afar during a chanted concert! Every Wednesday evening throughout October until November 30th, there will be an event where the Chantaliers de Normandie group will perform chants in Latin and Old French at 7:30pm near the altar.
